FOOD FOR THOUGHT Helpful Tips for Healthy and Balanced Living 1. Clarify and simplify – trying to avoid getting caught up in the busyness and aiming instead to focus on what is really important. • Regrouping • De-clutter • Planing and setting the energy for the day/week • Regular Meditation practice 2. Review your achievements and plan your goals for the year. • Reviewing your achievements • Reviewing and setting goals • Planing (implementation plan) 3. Sticking to your routine as much as possible and remember to look after your health (e.g. avoid eating any ‘junk’foods, sweets or drink too much alcohol and making sure you eat healthy foods, get enough exercise, rest and sleep). • Exercise - aerobic - weights - stretching • Diet - regular moderate meals with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, some protein (legumes, fish, lean meat), small amounts of good fats (nuts, seeds, olive oil) • Relaxing and doing something joyous and fun each day to nurture your soul • Enough restful, restorative sleep 4. Focusing on the positives - whether you're having to spend time with people or on things you'd prefer not to spend your time on or you are fully enjoying what you are involved with right now, try to think of all the good things in your life and focus on what you have, rather than on what you don't have. It is a much more powerful space to be in, from which to make any desired changes. 5. Have fun!
